Veterans Day

We recently visited Gettysburg National Military Park and the quiet of these rolling hills of Pennsylvania reminds visitors of the sacrifices our veterans have made for over two hundred years. As you drive around Gettysburg you notice the various markers erected by states to honor their sons who fought on this decisive battlefield, from a time when individual States yielded as much influence as the Federal government.

When we lived in Italy we also had the opportunity to visit some of the cemeteries from World War II where thousands of Americans are interned. These are Americans who made the sacrifice so both Europeans and Americans could be free.

Today is a day to honor the men and women who have served our country in uniform so that we, and others, can enjoy the freedoms we now have.
